Draw set for ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2026 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group

The ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2026 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), organized by the Sports Bureau, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and World Table Tennis Management Group Limited (WTMG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, will be held at Galaxy Arena from 30 March to 5 April. The draw ceremony for the tournament was held today (29 March) by the organizers.

48 male and 48 female top-ranked players from around the world will compete for the men’s and women’s singles titles in Macao, China. The world-class lineup includes: the defending men’s and women’s World Cup champions Hugo Calderano (Brazil) and Sun Yingsha (China); Chinese national team members Wang Chuqin, Liang Jingkun, Wen Ruibo, Zhou Qihao, Chen Yuanyu, Wang Manyu, Chen Xingtong, Kuai Man and Wang Yidi; as well as the U19 Boys’ and Girls’ singles champions of the ITTF World Youth Championships, Ryuusei Kawakami from Japan and Qin Yuxuan from China; and players who have qualified through the Continental Cups and world ranking. 

The tournament continues a two-stage format. In Stage 1, players are divided into 16 groups of three, with each player facing the others in a round-robin format. The top four seeds are assigned to Groups 1 to 4; the rest are drawn in using a modified snake system and players from the same association cannot be drawn into the same group. Each Stage 1 match will feature best-of-five games, and the player securing the top spot in each group will enter the knockout draw of Stage 2 featuring best-of-seven game matches.

In the Men’s World Cup highlight matches, world No. 1 Wang Chuqin will face Australia’s Finn Luu and Romania’s Eduard Ionescu. Defending World Cup champion Hugo Calderano will face Sweden’s Kristian Karlsson and Czechia’s Lubomir Jancarik. Mak Tin Ian from Macau, China will challenge Anders Lind of Denmark and Japan’s Shunsuke Togami.

For the Women’s World Cup, defending champion Sun Yingsha will face challenges from Egypt’s Dina Meshref and Chinese Taipei’s Li Yu-Jhun. No. 2 seed Wang Manyu will face India’s Sreeja Akula and Portugal’s Fu Yu, while Macau, China’s Leong On Na will face Chinese Taipei’s Cheng I-Ching and Egypt’s Hana Goda.

The competition kicks off with the group stage running from March 30 through April 1, featuring two sessions daily at 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. For the knockout matches, the schedule shifts slightly: the Round of 16 (April 2–3) and the quarterfinals (April 4) will starts at 11:00 a.m., followed by evening sessions at 6:00 p.m. Everything culminates on April 5, with the semifinals beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the final taking place at 7:30 p.m.

Ticket sales have received an overwhelming response from the public. A limited number of tickets are available on Damai application and mini program, with a maximum of four tickets per person per transaction. Every spectator at or over 1.2m in height must show their ticket for admission. Children who are shorter than 1.2m in height and do not occupy a seat can enter the venue free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult; each adult can only bring along one child with free admission.
